Value Delivered

Forest Electric New Jersey (Forest NJ) assisted Silgan Containers with a major electrical outage they experienced when a section of their bus duct failed. Forest NJ procured a ten-foot section of bus duct and had it installed the following day, allowing Silgan’s operations to rapidly resume. After a full facility inspection was performed, Forest NJ performed an extensive electrical upgrade. We now serve as the preferred in-house electrical contract for maintenance and manufacturing upgrades at the client’s 425,000-square-foot facility in Edison.

Client Objectives

Silgan’s immediate objective involved efficient repair of a failed section of bus duct. After the initial work was completed, they determined it was time to perform a full inspection to help ensure no future failures occurred.

Solutions

Forest NJ performed extensive electrical work for Silgan after the emergency repair was completed, including:

  • Installation of 500 feet of new 2,000-amp bus duct
  • Installation of a new electrical service
  • Engineering, prefabrication, and installation of new electrical work including pull boxes, collar boxes, conduit, cable, bus duct connections, and more
  • Utilization of engineering, BIM, and prefabrication expertise to minimize downtime
