Forest Electric New Jersey (Forest NJ) installed a new distributed antenna system (DAS) and full electrical infrastructure support system at a major sports and performance arena.

Client Objectives

Arena management wanted to upgrade the facility’s DAS in order to enhance cellular service for patrons visiting the sizable arena and ultimately provide a better fan experience. 

Solutions

During the project, Forest NJ provided extensive electrical services, including:

  • Installation of new DAS and all related electrical infrastructure support
    • One 600-amp Main Distribution Panel switchboard
    • One 200-amp panel and three 100-amp panels
    • A 225kVA transformer
  • Installation of conduit and wiring to remote power feeds for rack-mounted uninterruptable power supplies
  • Installation of rack power for new fiber and DAS panels
  • Engineering and installation of 99 directional Multiple–Input Multiple-Output antennas
  • Installation of fiber optic cables and terminations
  • Installation of 52 remote units

Client Background

This client operates a multi-purpose indoor arena located in New Jersey. The arena seats approximately 17,000 patrons, depending on event type, and is home to professional and collegiate sports teams.
