Forest NJ fit-out 10,000 s.f. of data floor white space on the 2nd floor of the old Macy’s building at 165 Halsey Street in Newark, New Jersey for Morgan Stanley. For this project, Forest provided the general power and lighting. The fit-out was completed on time and within the strict compressed completion schedule of the client. The work was completed in service to Structure Tone, the general contractor of the project.
The timely completion of the data center to accommodate Morgan Stanley’s requirements for a compressed completion schedule. Furthermore, a reliable and high performance operation that would allow a financial services firm like Morgan Stanley to focus on maximizing their clients assets, instead of the minutia involved in a data center white space fit-out.
SCOPE OF SERVICES
To transform the 10,000 s.f. space into an operating data center, Forest installed power distribution units (PDU’s) and all associated electrical distribution equipment. With a strict completion schedule, Forest took critical aim at coordination among the design team, equipment suppliers and other contractors on the project. This meant working hand and hand with the commissioning agent in order to facilitate the equipment commissioning process. Forest also installed two 600 kw UPS systems and all associated distribution equipment. To ensure the data center would be secure and protected, Forest installed the building access control and fire alarm systems.
On-time project delivery was an absolute. As such, Forest successfully completed the fit-out of the data center on time and within Morgan Stanley’s requirements for a compressed completion schedule. To best accommodate the client, Forest worked through Morgan Stanley required blacked out schedule dates. With manpower peaking at 130 men over two shifts, Forest completed the fit out in only 13 weeks. Additionally, Forest was awarded the maintenance contract for the data center.
