McGraw-Hill Data Center EAST WINDSOR, NEW JERSEY
Forest NJ built out the McGraw-Hill Data Center which is now the central hub of the company’s global computing needs.
McGraw-Hill wanted to provide a high-tech foundation for future business growth which would allow them to deliver an increasing amount of its financial, educational and business information products digitally and with greater timeliness, security and reliability.
SCOPE OF SERVICES
Forest performed the electrical installation, which included the controls for supplementary water. This installation included a well and water chemical treatment system. In addition, Forest installed all the branch circuiting and connected the downstream equipment, purchased and installed all of the lighting (including Lutron lighting control systems for the entire building), and fabricated and installed all the power whips and circuit breakers for the three computer rooms.
Forest Electric installed complete grounding grid systems through out the building, including all raised computer floors and a lightning protection system on the roof. Forest also installed a sound sphere public address system, four separate EPO systems with separate control panels and operating buttons located at six doors per room and with two power systems (A and B) for each system, and a complete fire alarm system through the building which included the main building system and the installation of eight separate pre-action systems in the data center and critical rooms.
Forest NJ delivered the project on time and within the contractual budget by utilizing the engineering department to produce shop drawings that fully coordinated all of their work with the other vendors and subcontractors. This resulted in optimal utilization of the work force for maximum productivity. Forest’s skilled technicians ensured that an owner mandated “no overtime” requirement was upheld.
